Once Upon a Sketch for May...

Hi folks,

Yes i know- it has been a long time between posts - i really don't know where the time goes - i always seem to be busy busy and just keep getting busier.

First up though here is my entry for the OUAS challenge- you had to have a number featured in there! My journalling is on the tag tucked behind the photo as usual!

Here is the sketch...

and here is my entry for this month - a little different for me! I wanted to use some of my Amy Tangerine papers that i got the other week at one of her workshops. Her papers are nice and bright - i decided to cut out the paper that had lots of journalling boxes and use that as my base around my photos and make the most of the beautiful flowers so lots of fussy cutting there! Quite simple but i like it as it emphasises the  beautiful photos of Lucy and Hollie! i thought about stamping and splattering paint but actually quite like it just simple with some washi tape and plasterers tape for some texture!

I have done another layout using these papers which is VERY VERY bright - so will post that one later in the week! Would love to hear your comments!

Anyway - why am i so busy - here is a rundown of life at the moment at our household!

I had my arm twisted quite hard by preschool about becoming the Chairperson for the Committee so guess who is now the Chairperson? I have some light reading of about 2 inches high to get up to speed on the Constitution, Charter, Strategic Plan and Policy manual and countless other things before ERO comes in early June! It looks like it will be alot of work- basically being in charge of the whole shebang - funding , finances, staffing etc - i was a little overwhelmed at the handover meeting! But i LOVE  our preschool and think they do a fantastic job so i am happy to help for a year till Hollie heads off to school next year! It will be interesting that is for sure! The work we women do all for free eh!

Simon has been selected to be on the school Board of Trustees- they asked me but i can;t do both- so Simon said he would do it - he at least gets paid for it!

Some of you may not be aware but Simon has been made redundant along with about a third of his company here in ChCH- he worked for Gen-I- the corporate part of Telecom. He had mixed feelings about going after 12.5 years there- he had made alot of friends and had progressed nicely up the corporate ladder but now has been pushed off well and truly. He finished work on Tuesday so is enjoying some time with family before deciding what to do next and whether he might have a change in direction. We are not stressed as we have a good redundancy buffer for awhile yet!

Ella has been sick all week with Strep throat - she still wants to go to Brownie Camp this weekend....mmm not sure about that one - we also have a family holiday planned for a week coming up soon which will be nice to all be together with dad for awhile while he is off work! And just the usual busy ness of life with 4 kids- i tell you they have a better social life than i do - my diary is usually full of their activities and not mine!

Anyhoo- back soon with my entry for the C'est Magnifique challenge using some new Prima- mmmm!

Keep warm

Now that layout is a little bit different for you. LOL Looks great too. Been there done that with the preschool/plunket chairperson stuff and then when the kids got to school age it was Andrews turn to do the BOT stuff. Such a lot going on for you all and would hope that you find time on holiday to just relax. :)
