Once upon a Sketch for July

Hi Everyone,

I just love the Once Upon a Sketch challenge site - it is probably my favourite at the moment and  i try really hard to do the sketch each month. This months sketch was beautiful as always so i had no problem making a layout! The sketch really lends itself to an ultra feminine page which would usually be right up my alley with 4 girls and plenty of posers in pink but i thought that i would challenge myself and do a masculine layout featuring my DH who usually tends to get missed out !!

i was also very good and delved into my stash of leftover bits and pieces and used up the last of some of my older Prima - Botanicals range. I am looking forward to all the CHA releases - 2 Prima ranges look lovely - the Glitz Designs ranges appeal to me too- some My Minds Eye and some of the new Basic Grey actually look quite nice!!

Anyways here is the sketch for this month...

And here is my version of the sketch.... i used lots of layers and little bits and bobs tucked in all over the place- my journalling is on the tag at the top - this month we had to use the theme FRIEND- so naturally Simon was the focus this week as he is my best friend! i just love using the corrugated cardboard for my male layouts too...

I am really enjoying doing some more male layouts and am looking forward to the Scrappin Patch retreat in Sept where we will be focussing on painting and inking and gesso and messy stuff that i don't really do but want to- This time we are hosting Cindy Porter - a certified ranger master and Tim Holtz educator so it will be heaps of fun and a steep learning curve for me! There are still a couple of spaces available  i think - so if you are interested contact Adrienne at Scrappin Patch.

Back soon with some more of my layouts that i have done for Nic Howards Dimensional Details class...
