Dimensional Details - Week 2 and weekend roundup!

Hi Everyone,

The following layout was my entry for Week 2 at Nic Howard's Dimensional Details class at Big Picture Scrapbooking. We had to try and use up some scraps of paper for this one so i used up some of my stash of Melissa Frances 5th Avenue papers that i bought last year. The tones were very soft with pale pinks and greens which looked very washed out to me in the finish! We also had to use some masking on our layout as a means of building up the background and adding dimension  to our page. I misted a doily onto the background then added the doily to my page too.

I used a photo of Ella from earlier in the year when she was nice and freckled from the summer sun and had lost both her front teeth-  i just loved her gap toothed smile! It took about 6 months for those 2 front teeth to grow down so she had this look until just recently!

On the personal front we have been avidly watching the Olympics- the opening ceremony was great - my favourite parts were Rowan Atkinson- brilliant !! and the Queen with James Bond! The Brits did a great job- i have been taping all the gymnastics and have a huge backlog now to watch and catch up on already! Go the KIWIS!

Ella informed us yesterday that it was Harry;s birthday today and were we going to have a birthday party and cake for him like we have in the past? Harry is Ella's beloved teddybear- i thought she might have outgrown the need for a party this year for him but it seems not. I think it is a case of any excuse for a party and some yummy food too! So we decided that we would have a birthday tea tonight. I had fun making the moro bar cars with the tiny teddies and lamingtons and other treats! A Nice way to end the weekend!

Hope that you had a great one- and it was sunny where you are too!

The layout looks lovely.
Looks like you had a fun party, can you *please* send me the recipe for making the cookie monster cupcakes and the moro bar cars? Michelle's birthday is next week and I could do with ideas.
