i love being your mum

hi everyone,

Lots to share today... first up a layout that i did for the May challenge over at the Once Upon a Sketch challenge site. Naturally this month the theme was based around mothers and being a mum and had to include some journalling around that-  for the first time i wrote quite a long spiel on the back of a layout as what i wanted to say was too big for my usual hidden tag  on the front of the layout! If you haven't checked out their site yet you should- the sketches are always beautiful and challenging and the examples are just stunning by the design team and other entries that come in! Anyhoo this is my take on the sketch...

For family i wanted to share some photos of the past weeks goings ons... first up some photos of Ella and her BFF at netball this week... Ella has just started playing and is really enjoying it so far - but still wants to play hockey as well -- oh and the drums - but thats another story!

having a blast with her 2 best mates

Today was THE coldest day of the year so far and never got into double figures and we had a school trip to Canterbury Park for an Olympics Day!! It was absolutely FREEZING- the poor kids were shivering and quite a few i was shocked to notice didn't even have a coat ! It was freezing and raining and windy and then hailed on us all - there was no shelter at all and it was absolutely miserable which was a real shame as it looked so well organised and would have been so much fun if the weather had been better! They finally aborted the day at lunchtime as the poor kids and us adults were just do cold - all the kids wanted to do was to go home- or even back to school! As i said it was a shame as they had set it all up with alot of the Canterbury schools so there was probably about 600 kids there from 7-9years old from a variety of schools. South Hornby was the England Team- and they had Japan, Brazil, South Africa, Germany, Jamaica and of course New Zealand. We had the official march around following the flag at the opening ceremony and then were sent out to play a variety of Olympic Sports. Because of the weather we only had time to do some running events and some soccer games- before lunch where they had a free sausage sizzle for the kids and a lolly scramble! It was hard to have much fun though when you were just so cold!

Well - back soon with some more to share

Francine
