Sweltering Evenings and a Layout to share

Hi everyone on this sweltering hot evening in Christchurch - its like the summer that never was is finally here! We have been out and about in the warm sunshine today and the girls are all tired out after our busy day! We went to a 5th birthday party today out at Doyleston- past Springston- it was held at the local hall and there was an awesome new playground for bigger kids as well as a fenced smaller one for the littlies. They had also built a BMX track there too- so the girls had lots of fun biking around and playing outside! Lucy was a legend on the BMX track- she has only been riding her bike for a couple of weeks without the trainer wheels and she was straight into it- no fear at all! Hollie had a great time on the bouncy castle and biking round the tennis courts with the other little kids. It was a great party and they loved it so much that Zoe wants to come back again one day for a picnic! Poor Ella then went to a Brownies Fun Day at Cracroft. They had canoeing and abseiling down a huge tower and lots of other activities for the girls to play outside. So poor Ella was pretty darn tired tonight although she said that the queues were so long that she missed out on the abseiling and the canoeing!

This layout was another that i did at the Scrappin Patch retreat over the last weekend. I wanted to do a layout about me for the girls for the future. When they look back at their albums that i have lovingly created for them - as someone pointed out what will they really know about their mother ? She was the one that was always behind the camera so not in the photos either and never scrapbooked about at all. So i thought that i would do a layout featuring me and i included a little book that i have had since i first started scrapbooking almost 5 years ago now that tells all the facts about me - where i was born and went to school etc but more about me as a person. What makes me cry - or laugh- what are the best moments of my life and what are my dreams- for me and for them? You get the drift anyways.... So this is what o came up with....

My  favourite colour is green so i had to have that featured there naturally - i love the more natural earthy colours  too- and lately have been playing with more textured materials on my layouts like hessian and cardboard so they got featured too and of course flowers had  to be on there!!

Anyhoo- off for a cool drink before bed - Simon is back from the first Crusaders game played back in CHCH. It was  at the new stadium in Addington since the other AMI stadium got wrecked in the earthquakes! We won so that means a happy husband tonight!

Back with more to share later...

It sure was a beautiful evening. Love that layout of you and must admit to making an effort to get more in front of the camera this year than behind it. Go the Crusaders - it was a great start for the new stadium.

Lovely layout Francine, a great idea to capture more about yourself. I'm sure your girls will really appreciate it one day :)
