More Christmas activities....

Hi everyone- sorry this blog has been a little neglected this week as i deal with a husband in his third week off work but slowly getting better and all the usual busyness of having 4 children all flat out with xmas activities! I have managed to scrap though amongst all that !

Anyhoo - Xmas round up first and some more photos...

The 2 big girls finished school this week on Wed for Ella and Thursday for Zoe- so i went to the last assembly which was held outside in the lovely weather. They all performed some Xmas songs and said goodbye to the Year 6 students who are off to intermediate next year! Zoe moves into the senior syndicate next year ( year 5) and Ella into the middle syndicate (year 3) awating Lucy to start in Term 2 into the Junior syndicate. Can;t believe that Lucy  will be at school too next year- she doesn't want to go at all so i  have to do some convincing over the holidays that its fun!

Both girls got really great school reports so Simon and i were really pleased with them both. The new national standards were introduced this year so its abit harder to measure and interpret what it actually means- so i tend to take more by the comments! Ella was above the national standard for reading and met the standards for writing and maths- whatever that means? Zoe has done really well considering that she was a year behind at the start of last year- in other words Year 2 she got really behind and then has had to work really hard in year 3 and this year to catch up. But thankfully she achieved all the national standards this year for reading, writing and maths but needs to work on her spelling which is terrible! She has had extra help with that this year so that has improved and hopefully will continue to do so. Both girls were happy with their new teachers and Ella has 2 of her best friends in her class next year- Zoe once again has a hard time with no friends in her class and will have to try and make new ones next year - she is abit of a loner so hopefully she can make a really good friend next year.

Here is a photo of Zoe singing away at the school assembly...

Anyhoo- we all went to the Preschool party on Thursday - Ella had the morning off school but Zoe wanted to go so i had to pick her up at 10.30am-( she is going to miss school these holidays) and off we went. It was a special party to farewell one of the teachers who is retiring and has been at the centre for 12 years. Helen is a lovely lady and will be missed so the other teachers and children had organised a party for her. Everyone had to dress up as a book character as Helen loves books and reading stories. Lucy went as Snow White but refused to let me take a photo- even with one of the teachers who came as the evil queen! Hollie went as a Princess and Ella as a fairy. They had a huge long table all decorated up with fairytales and books and lots of food - even a fake cup of poison and a poison apple! We had a feast and then Santa came to see teh children and give each a present. They all received 2 books and some toothbrushes and toothpaste to combat all the lollies and chocolate they will get over the holidays! Then afterwards they had the music man come in and play carols and songs for the children to dance to. Another great day at preschool!

Starting to put the food out

Aren't these cool!

Adele as the evil queen from Snow White

Adele as the Evil Queen and Raylene as Cruella de Ville from 101 Dalmations

Mr Box Head from Party Rock

Hannah as Belle and Lucy as Snow White

Always full of mischief!

Simon was gutted that he was still too sick to do the Santa duties this year- luckily they borrowed our suit and managed to convince someone to step in and be Santa at the last minute!

Onto scrappin stuff- i have actually done a page- wahoo - a very bright page for me but i like it - can;t show you yet though as it goes up on teh Scrappin Patch blog on Tuesday- so keep looking there- will be my last design team post ever!

Last night i attended a special crop Xmas night at Burwood church as part of my Happy Scrappers crop group. This year the party was run by Jo and Natasha from the Paper Teapot. Wowee did they do an awesome job of the night. We were greeted with champagne flutes of punch with strawberries -shown to our seats and given a complimentary pack to make a chipboard decoration- mone was a Xmas tree. We had lollies on each table and they came around with platters of crackers and cheese and beautiful cupcakes and delicious treats all night! They had a silent auction and lots of spot prizes throughpout the night- i won a prize for the silliest Santa hat and won a Martha Stewart punch- score! There were 17 ladies there and a great time was had by all- the 2 ladies did a fantastic job of running the night! I managed to get a layout done and started another but haven't had a chance to take photos yet!

Had a lovely lunch at a friends house today and exchanged presents- she had bought all 4 girls beautiful summer dresses- she is so naughty- especially since i only have to buy for her one! Thanks Sez for a lovely afternoon!

Okey dokey off to bed
